Fences, gates and repairs in Saratoga Springs

Vinyl fencing
Vinyl is what you'll see in most of Saratoga Springs, and it's what most HOAs out here call for. It doesn't need paint or stain, sprinklers don't hurt it, and a good panel holds its color in our sun for a long time.
Most of what we put in is 6-foot privacy in white, tan or clay. We also do semi-privacy, picket for front yards, and two-tone. Posts get set in concrete at least 30 inches deep, and gate posts get a metal insert so the gates don't sag.
Most vinyl jobs come in at $30–$45 per foot installed.
Cedar and wood
Wood costs a little less than vinyl and looks warmer, and a broken board is a five-minute fix. We build solid privacy and board-on-board with treated posts in concrete (or steel posts, if you'd rather never deal with a rotted post), screwed rails, and an optional cap on top.
Our dry air is actually kind to cedar. Stain it every two or three years and it'll last 15 to 20. Skip the stain and it grays and starts to cup, especially on the side that faces the afternoon sun.
Expect $25–$40 per foot installed.
Iron and aluminum
If your lot backs open space or has a view of the lake, a solid privacy fence just blocks it. Black aluminum or steel keeps the kids and the dog in without walling off the yard. It's also the standard around pools, on walkout lots and along retaining walls.
Powder-coated aluminum won't rust, and it's what we put in most often. Steel is heavier and stronger and costs more.
$40–$60 per foot installed, depending on height and style.
Chain link
The cheapest way to fence in a lot of ground. It's good for side yards, dog runs, gardens and the back of a big lot. We do galvanized and black vinyl-coated (which looks a lot better) from 4 to 6 feet, plus slats if you want some privacy.
$15–$25 per foot installed.
Gates and RV access
Gates are where cheap fences fail first. A gate is basically a lever hanging off one post, so that post gets a bigger hole and more concrete, and on vinyl, a metal insert. We hang them with heavy hinges and a latch that still lines up a few years later.
- Walk gates, 4 or 5 feet wide
- Double drive gates, 10 to 16 feet, for an RV pad, trailer or boat beside the house
- Self-closing, self-latching hardware for pool gates

New construction and builder work
A lot of our work is on lots that don't have grass yet. For builders and contractors, that means we can bid from plot plans before final grade, schedule around your landscaper, call in Blue Stakes, and price a whole phase at one per-lot rate.
Bought a new build yourself? Call as soon as you have a closing date. We'll price it from the plot plan and get you on the calendar for right after final grade. We wrote up the whole process.
Repairs and replacement
Wind storms take out a few panels around here every year. We replace broken vinyl and wood, reset leaning posts in proper concrete, and rehang gates that drag. If you're replacing the whole thing, tearing out and hauling off the old fence (footings included) is part of the quote.
